Come and visit the Giving Tree Gardens during our Open House dates, Workshops, and upcoming garden events.  The soothing sounds of a frog fountain greet vistors entering the Giving Tree Gardens.  The fountain and landing create an axis for the gardens with vistas and paths leading off in each direction, creating formality in a natural setting.

Specializing in rare and unique plants of all kinds, hundreds of plants from natives to plants from afar such as Japan, England, South America, China, Mexico, and beyond fill the 2 acre site located at 8204 Bell Creek Road in Mechanicsville, Virginia.  Paths take visitors through our Display Garden, Kitchen Garden, Cut Flower Garden, and Conifer Collection.  Other collections include Daylily, plus German,Siberian, and Louisana Iris.

Our Display Garden features hundreds of rare and unusual plants.  Perennials carpet pathways, shrubs provide spectacular color, and trees unify the garden with bold foliage and textures.

Whether viewed from near or afar the golden Dawn Redwood, Metasequoia glyptostroboides 'Ogon' is a favorite of Beth Burrell.  The intense golden-yellow foliage is teasingly smooth and feathery; you just can't help but reach out and touch! Topping out around 9 feet, Physocarpus opulifolis 'Diabolo' (right) creates its own fashion show.  Large purple leaf foliage is finely cut and perfectly textured.  Like the wings of an angel, the branches arch stylishly and gently move in harmony with summer day breezes.

We only recommend those plants which we have grown or trailed in our own gardens and area landscapes.  Plants can be purchased at any of our open house and garden events or call to request a catalog for placing email orders. Beth@GivingTreeLtd.com
