about Beth Burrell and Giving Tree

Beth Burrell, landscape designs and consultations Elizabeth (Beth) Burrell owner of Giving Tree, has been designing and creating the areas finest residential, estate and corporate gardens for over 25 years. She provides a variety of services, including on site landscape design, horticultural consultation, and specialized maintenance . Beth creates a wide range of exciting garden styles from classic to contemporary, focusing on the use of rare and unusual plants, combined with striking flower, foliage and texture combinations, which offer year-round interest to any garden setting. Beth's garden has been featured on Home Grown TV, in the Richmond Times Dispatch and At Home in Richmond.



She earned both her Master and Bachelor degrees from Virginia Tech in Landscape Design, Business and Ornamental Horticulture, and was one of ten selected nationally by Colonial Williamsburg into its internship program.  She is a member of the VNLA, RNLA, and Garden Writers Association.  Beth is an avid garden photographer, and uses many of her own photographs in her writing and garden lectures.  In addition to running a full time business, to share her extensive knowledge, she speaks before Garden Clubs, and teaches on a variety of subjects at locations including Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden, and Hanover Master Gardeners.

Beth, along with her husband Scott, has designed and planted extensive gardens at her own 2 acre property.  A Display Garden, Kitchen Garden and Cut Flower Garden are 3 of the featured areas, with a new Conifer Garden that was installed this spring.  Special attention is given to garden decor, from cozy benches to birdhouses, to bold containers and water features.  The gardens serve as an educational tool for clients, garden clubs, master gardeners, and guests to showcase a wide range of unique, rare, and unusual plants.
